Il Drago Dysis, AKA Grem was our mini-me of Africa. Actually she turned out to be even more overdone than her mother, definitely another freakish example of what Peppi x Africa could do together. A free spirit, she was more pig than dog when it came to cleanliness, but her sweet nature and "I was a runt" attitude was hard to resist. She was returned to Il Drago Kennels in 2007 where she retired. Sadly, we buried another one of our own Neos too early & let it be a lesson to Mastino fanciers that chase type. Excessive type shortened this dogs life. I buried her next to her sister Medusa who died 4-20-08 here at Il Drago Farms. This is turn around time for my kennel. This is turn around time for this breed, and I will be dedicated to working on extending the lives of this breed via selective breeding, health screening & just knowing when to say when. While type is ABSOLUTELY necessary in the Mastino, early excessive distorted type is frowned upon in theory but praised on the message boards, used in ads & pumped on YouTube.
